How to calculate profit in the Arena Breakout Infinite market
"It sells for more than I paid" is not the same as "I made money". To know whether a flip or a craft in the Arena Breakout: Infinite market is worth doing, you need the full calculation, including the costs that are easy to forget.
The formula
For one item:
Net profit = sale price − market fees − cost of what you bought
For a stack, multiply by how many you are flipping. In the Calculator one slot holds 5 items, and a full run is 55 slots (275 items):
Net per slot = net profit per item × 5
The cost of what you bought is either the purchase price of the item (a straight flip) or the sum of its materials (a craft).
Step 1: Get the real sale price
Use the price buyers are actually paying now, not the highest listing. If the cheapest listing is 112,000 and you list at 115,000, nobody buys until the cheaper ones sell out. Base the calculation on the price you can realistically sell at.
Step 2: Include market fees
The market keeps a cut of every sale: currently 12% of the sale price. On a 60,300 Koen sale that is 7,236 Koen gone before you see a coin. Leaving the fee out is the most common reason a "profitable" flip loses Koen.
Market fee = sale price × 0.12
Step 3: Add up every material
For crafts, list each material with the quantity the recipe needs and its current buy price. If an item has more than one recipe, calculate each one: the cheaper route changes from day to day.
Worked example
Round example figures:
| Line | Koen |
|---|---|
| Material A × 1 | 41,200 |
| Material B × 1 | 38,500 |
| Total cost | 79,700 |
| Sale price | 112,000 |
| Market fee (12%) | −13,440 |
| Net profit per item | 18,860 |
| Net per slot of 5 | 94,300 |
Leaving out the fee would have shown 32,300 per item, overstating the profit by more than 70%.
Step 4: Decide your break-even prices
Rearrange the formula to find the most you can pay for materials and still profit, and the least you can sell for. These become the ceiling and floor in the flipping strategy.
Doing it without a spreadsheet
You can do all of this in a spreadsheet, but prices change during a session and re-typing them gets old quickly. The Market Calculator in Pato Tool Bot fills in current prices, takes off the 12% fee, shows net profit per item, per slot and for 55 slots, lets you adjust any number and then loads the item's config so the bot can run it.
A real example from the app: the RAL40 Premium Gas Mask sold for 60,300, its materials (a Watch and a Cannon Shell) cost 33,630, and after the 7,236 fee the Calculator showed +19,434 per item, +97,170 per slot and +5,344,350 for 55 slots.
